This story “the day the dancers came” was written by Bienvenido N. Santos. This story is about a citizen of Philippine named Fil and became a U.S citizen after the war. Eventually, Fil lived with Tony, he`s also a Filipino who also became a U.S citizen also after the war. When Fil heard the news that the Filipino dancers will go to America to perform, he got so excited. He thinks of what dialect he`ll going to use to communicate to those Filipino dancers. He prepared well for the upcoming events. He even cleaned his car, his house and he planned to cook adobo for the young dancers` and he planned to tour them in America. While Fil is full of excitement Tony disagreed and he doesn’t want to join at Fil plans.

Fil went to the hotel lobby and he saw those Filipino dancers. In that hotel a group of young dancers are supposed to stay there. Fil did`nt hesitate to approach them and invite them to his house to have a conversation unfortunately the young Filipino dancers neglected Fil offer because they have no time and they ignore and avoiding him.
In that evening, Fil watched the dancer’s performance. He recorded everything in his tape recorder and he loves to hear the sound of the music, everything special to him in that tape recorder. When he`s got at home from the theatre he found Tony asleep. He played what the tape recorder and carefully listened to the music and the pattering of the feet that the dancers did. When Tony woke up he asked Fil to turn off the recorder. Fil follow what Tony commands him even he don’t want to turn off the recorder. In panic, Fil accidentally erased what he was recorded on the tape and there was nothing left any record on that tape.
