MORAL PHILOSOPHICAL APPROACH

      FAITH, LOVE AND TIME in the story was lacking. Dr. Lazaro does not seem to have this. There was a factor that possibly caused him to be like this. One thing that I noticed was when his another son committed suicide and he was not able to do anything to save the life of his son. That would be the very tragic experience in his life that as a doctor in profession he was not able to save the life of his own son. This could also cause him to lessen his faith in God that made his passion in helping other people decreased. Because of this tragic event in his life everything has changed. Every one of us will encounter challenges in life but we should know how to get over on that certain matter. He should appreciate life more and cherish the moments and time that he could stay with his family and how could he help the people around him as a doctor.
      Ben at the story would probably the counter part of Mr. Lazaro. Ben was a good example of a person who would really plan for his or her future. His positive outlook in life includes the people around him and not only thinking about his own goodness. We can really see at the story the concern of Ben on the dying child of Esteban. He knows the importance of giving baptism to the dying child, even the child died Ben was able to save the soul of the child. The family of the child was very thankful on the efforts of Dr.Lazaro and on the help of Ben.
      Dr. Lazaro boxed himself on the past; it was really hard for him to move on, that it slowly change his point of view as a person. He found it hard to love others because he also does not know how to love his life. He might still be regretting on the wasted time that he could probably spend on his lost son. We could also see the maturity of a person when it comes to problems in life that age does not matter. Because in my own opinion I could say that Ben is more mature compare to Dr. Lazaro. They both lost a special someone very closed to them but Ben chose to start a new beginning because life must go on with his faith in God.
